Pair Reinforced

A decent pair of worker boots
If you work in the blue-collar industries, then you will be familiar with the importance of wearing the correct type of footwear to work. You understand that it is essential to choose a pair of choose with a steel toecap, with a reinforced sole and upper, with static resistant properties, with a non-slip sole, with insulation, and waterproofing. However, there may be a few things that you have not thought about, which may be causing you problems in your working life. Read this article and find out if you are wearing the right type of shoes for heavy or light manual work.
First things first, most labour intensive jobs require boots, rather than shoes. A decent pair of worker boots will have reinforced material throughout. This will help to protect the feet from any flying debris, or from falls, etc.
Materials
You need to have a clear idea of the type of material that you will need from your shoes, before you actually buy a pair. Work boots are available in many different materials, each with their own advantages and disadvantages. For example, rubber is great for protection against water, and provides some protection from electrical discharge, but tend to be hot, and prevent feet from breathing, leading to conditions such as athletes' foot. Leather can offer all the above properties, and allow feet to breathe, they are also extremely hardwearing and durable, which may seem ideal, but they also tend to be heavier and less flexible, which means that you will have to work harder.
Climate Control
Depending on where you live in the world and depending on whether you work indoors or outdoors, you will have different requirements from your boots.
For those of you who work in colder climates, you will need to buy an insulated pair of worker boots. When buying such boots remember, that you will need at least a half size larger than your normal size. That will allow for room should you need to wear thermal socks too.
For those working in wet climates, full-grain leather is the better option. This material is waterproof and prevents your feet from getting wet. Leather needs breaking in, so shoes may be a little uncomfortable at the start, but after a few weeks, they will mould to your feet and feel very comfortable (see below regarding correct fit).
If you work in a hot environment, then you need to opt for a more lightweight material. Rather than wearing full-grain, choose a mix material, for instance, nylon and leather. These mixed combinations offer the best solution for hot weather and provide the best of leather, with the flexibility and breathability of the other materials.
Fit
It is essential that you choose the right size shoes for your feet. Ill-fitting shoes cause all manner of problems, from serious back pain to hammer toe – both conditions that will require time of work to mend. Make sure that you know your correct shoes size by having your feet measured in a foot store.

How to repair dog outdoor kennel?
I have a 10 x 10 chain link kennel, and one of my dogs has decided to chew his way out of the door. He has broken one of the clasps holding the chain link to the frame of the door, and has bent the main bar that shapes the chain link, on the same door. At this point he has escaped several times today, despite our best attempts to fix/contain him. We have no choice but to use his old cage. Is there a way to re-pair the door, and perhaps reinforce it? Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!
