What is the difference between latex and nitrile gloves?
Please shed some light on this. A lady living near me is a foster mother for several disabled children. She has been tossing out wal-mart bags full of soiled gloves with her trash. I've noticed for a while that there are two different types of gloves. One rips very easily and retains stains easier while the other does not. But as for your question, one big advantage of nitrile gloves is that they don't cause a reaction in people who are allergic to latex. Also, latex breaks up when it touches oils, while nitrile rubber gloves do not. Unfortunately, as you found out, nitrile rubber is not as strong as latex and is more prone to ripping.
Why is she using both, and not one or the other? Beats me. Different situations call for different gloves, perhaps.
